Family #1

I'm insanely homesick and miss my family so much right now. I'll be heading home to visit the first week of July so I'm starting to get excited. I know Jake and Patricia's anniversary was a couple weeks ago but I was just going through some older photos and found some photos from their rehearsal dinner and wedding. I can't believe it's been 5 years!!!!! I may be posting more family photos in the upcoming days as my anticipation of my trip home builds. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

My Window is Finally Fixed!!!!!

We were supposed to go golfing today but we slept in and I got a phone call right when we woke up that my window regulator and motor arrived at Checkers. The window got broken out (and my ipod taken) on May 9 and the window was replaced May 11. On the 12th I was driving down the road and the window was up and just went *clunk* into the door. I took it by the glass place and they told me the regulator was broken (that's the part that attaches the window to the electric motor that rolls it up and down) and apparently those fail often on Jeeps and Audis and it was a complete coincidence that it happened the day after my window got replaced. So... the reason it took me so long to replace the part is related some to procrastination, some to being so busy with moving and everything, and some to me researching my most economical option. Buying the part through an auto shop was cheaper no matter who installed it and Cort was willing to make attempt before we paid someone to do it. He was so patient today. Les (his dad) and I were both trying hard to get our hands into fixing it and we were both offering suggestions and advice and he just kept working and finally got it hooked up and it works. I can't believe he didn't snap or get mad at either of our type A attempts to control the situation. Thank you Cort!!! For saving me money, working on my car, and putting up with me and your dad! Here are some photos of my window being fixed in Les's garage. Hope everyone is having a wonderful week! Hopefully I'll have some golfing photos for you soon. There's a course within walking distance from us and it's cheap! I'm very much looking forward to checking it out.

A little blurry but this is Cort working on my window
I took this photo so you can see what I had to do to keep my window up for that last month or so. It took A LOT of Goo Gone to get all the tape marks off my car!
Almost fixed

Good as new!

More Camping

Sorry it's been awhile. It's been a hectic week and I haven't taken many new photos. I have worked a lot lately and Cort had Connor this weekend so any time I haven't been sleeping, we've been watching cartoons and rough housing. I'm so thrilled that I'm now included in that, haha... I woke up Saturday afternoon before going to work by having my feet tickled by a 6 year old (Connor had a birthday on June 1). Here are some more photos from our camping trip last weekend. I don't know if everyone knows or not yet but I got my vacation time approved!!!!!!! Can't wait to visit Georgia and Illinois!!!!!! I miss everyone sooooo much!!! Enjoy my photos! Hopefully I'll have something new for you soon. Happy Monday everyone (for me it's Friday, yay)!

I LOVE my car! I am so happy that I bought it! Despite all the issues I've had with it, it was totally worth the purchase! (Did I mention the check engine light is on? Hope it's nothing serious, haha)
A lesson in gun safety by Zach. Zach brought his guns with him and so we had to take them up the road and shoot them. I still don't really understand boys and guns, even though they are kind of cool.
More education
These are Nick's parent's dogs that are the same breed as Lambeau, norwegian elkhounds. They are very cool dogs
By the way, Chrissy, we did get rained on! I forgot to tell you. It rained while we were on the ATVs on Saturday (A drizzle, not too much). Then it rained late Saturday night as we were all thinking of going to bed. The weather decided for us and it rained and the wind blew all night. I didn't get wet in the tent but I don't really ever remember being warm.
Dirty!!! I don't remember the last time I've been that dirty. It's kind of fun but it would have been more fun if I could have showered right after getting that dirty!
The rain clouds on Saturday, view from our site
Zach was chopping wood for the fire with an ax and a piece came up and hit him right below the eye. He's lucky we didn't have a major emergency on our hands! I don't do eyes!! The next morning he woke up with a shiner. It's hard to see in this picture.
We were so tired when we got home that we just passed out after unpacking the car. Cort passed out before me so that I could take the photo (which he hates. he is actually standing over my shoulder complaining that I'm posting it, haha!)

4 Wheelin

On Saturday, Nick's aunt, uncle and cousins met us and brought along their ATVs so we had 4 total. We went on a couple trips, had a few technical diffculties, got extremely dirty, laughed a lot and had a blast. I hope you enjoy the photos!

Camping!!!!!!

Finally!! The first camping trip of 2010 from Friday night to Sunday. We went with Cort's friends Nick and Ashley and Zach and Lindsay. Nick's parents met us up there. They have a 5th wheel and ATVs and all kinds of fun toys. This is from the first night. We were all tired and crabby from too much fun the night before but we made the best of it.

Ashley unloading the chairs
Cort and Zach started a fire
I took pictures (I helped unload and set up too ;) )
Chilling around the fire. Much needed relaxation.
Beautiful night at a beautiful campsite

More photos from the rest of the trip tomorrow.

Rockies Game

Here are some photos from the Rockies game Nick, Ashley, Cort and I went to last Friday night. It was HOT, even at 7pm! We had fun though. I didn't get a ton of photos because Nick and Ashley are even less used to having their picture taken than Cort and I started getting a lot of faces and such. I got a few good ones. So far the plan is still to head to the mountains and go camping this weekend. Hopefully I'll have many more photo ops and things to share for next week ;) Have a great weekend everyone!!!!!!

Nick and Ashley on the way
Me and Cort
I love baseball!
Even though it started out hot it turned out to be a gorgeous evening
This photo was taken on my Blackberry (have I mentioned that I LOVE my phone?). If you saw the picture taken right before this one you would understand why I'm laughing and I actually have a rare genuine smile from Cort caught on camera. It's hard to come by with him!

Justin's Birthday

The second weekend in the house I hosted a pre-party for Cort's best friend Justin's 30th birthday (I've been doing a lot of 30th birthdays this year! Cort's was the 2nd week that I knew him and all his friends are now turning 30). Then we went out and continued the party. We had a great time!

Justin playing with the gun
The boys found an old wooden rubber band gun in the garage and so for about an hour it was like having a group of kids in the backyard. They were cracking me up!!
Lindsay, I am forever thankful for that margarita recipe!!! I have made it tons of times and it always gets rave reviews!! Yum!
Wii bowling
The cake I made. Justin's last name is a long name that begins with the letters Spahl. So everyone calls him Spahl or Spahli. I guess there were multiple Justins at their school
Cort insisted on trick candles ;)
I was laughing so hard at these guys! They're making faces but all three of them were actually sitting at the table texting. Those are Cort's friends Zach and Lindsay.
Angry faces. Grrr
Happy 30th Spahl!!

On a side note, I did laugh out loud at that picture of you and Mom at Tanner's, Chrissy! It is hilarious!! It looks like you guys had a great Memorial Day weekend!!!! Wish I could have been there. I was at work making the big bucks instead though. That was just a barrel of laughs ;) But now I'm off for five days and I get to go camping too!! Cort and I are going to join Ashley and Nick this weekend for first camping trip of the season. CAN'T WAIT!!!
