Hey Everyone!!!

I know. It's been awhile. I've had a crazy (way fun) July. I want to post a few pics from the last week we were in Wyoming before I tell you about the rest of July and the way fun week we just had with Chris and Butch (et al). So, we arrived Jackson Hole on Sunday the 12th. That Monday we had a pretty relaxed day. We went for a bike ride and went checked out Teton Park. Tuesday the boys hiked to the top of Wister Peak in the Tetons. They left the house around 4 am and got back around 8 pm. I spent the day relaxing. It was very nice. Don had a knee injury from a little stumble. Wednesday Jeremy took a class to learn how to roll his kayak upright when he flips in the river. I shopped around a little in the town then picked him up and he kayaked the Hoback river. Thursday was another chill day. Friday Don decided he needed to go to the hospital. His leg was swollen, hot and hurting. Jeremy had left to go to another lesson on the river and Don took himself. When Jeremy was done he picked me up and we went to meet Don. They gave him IV antibiotics for cellulitis and bursitis and he had to return every 12 hours several times to get another dose. Friday night Jeremy and I went to see the new Harry Potter movie then went out for a few drinks. Saturday Jeremy and I went whitewater rafting on the Snake River. It was a ton of fun. We had a great river guide and a beautiful day. Celia arrived that afternoon to help us get packed and drive Don home. That night we ate dinner at The Mangy Moose then went to the symphony. It was a great night. Sunday we headed south back to Denver. We met Don and Celia for lunch in Cheyenne then went our separate ways. It was a ton of fun but seemed like it was over way too fast! In the next couple of days, I'll tell you guys all about my trip to Vegas (well not ALL) and our week with Chris, Butch and the kids. Have a great weekend everyone. We'll be working.

Here's a link to the pics the rafting company took of our rafting trip. Check them out. Jeremy and I are in front. They turned out really well.

Oops. Forgot the buns!
It's just as good right off the stick
Porcupine Falls
At the lookout for Bucking Mule Falls. Perfect day, perfect hike, NO mosquitos!!!!

Okay, I know I said I'd post yesterday but I spent the few hours I had between getting out of bed and going to work outside planting flowers on the deck. It was a beautiful, sunny 80 degrees and I wanted to get the planters planted before I head off to Vegas. Bonus: the flower shop in Bailey had just put all their annuals 25% so I got some great deals on some beautiful flowers. I'll post pictures of my flowers next week, after you guys see all my WY and Vegas pics ;)

So let me tell you about our first week in Wyoming. We arrived at the cabin on July 3rd and spent the 4th in Greybull as I described in the previous post. The night of the 3rd we had dinner at the Ranger Creek Lodge very near the cabin. Celia flew back on the 5th to be with Jenelle for her surgery. The boys took her to the airport and I slept in and spent the day relaxing. On the 6th, Don, Jeremy and I hiked up Antelope Butte which is right behind the cabin (and 2000 ft higher). The last time I tried to make it to the top I felt terrible and had to turn around. It was the first year I went and the first time I had ever been at altitude. This was my second attempt and I made it to the top! Yay! I got covered in mosquito bites, a blister on my heel and rained on, but I made it ;) The next day we went to a secret lake to fish and only caught a couple. The mosquitos were terrible and we forgot buns for our hot dogs. It was a beautiful hike though. We made up for the lack of fish the next day at Lake Arden, which was beautiful (and plentiful). I even caught a few. We had a trout dinner that night. The next day I stayed at the cabin to rest my blistered heel while the boys did some exploring. Friday we went to check out some waterfalls (Porcupine and Bucking Mule) and had a nice hike to get to Bucking Mule Falls (and NO mosquitos the whole day!!!). Saturday was mostly spent packing and getting ready for our Sunday drive to Jackson Hole. That is a very short version of all the things we did but it works and it covers all the pictures that I will post sometime soon (hopefully) to go with this post. My next post will be all about our week at Jackson Hole.

Sunday-I'm Back!

We got back from our WY trip tonight. Vacation always goes way too fast. We spent the first week in the Big Horn Mountains at the Johnson's family cabin. I got off work July 3rd at 7 am and Jeremy was waiting to pick me up and start our drive north out of Denver. We drove up to Sheridan WY then into the mountains from there. We spent the 4th at Don's (Jeremy's dad) Aunt and Uncle's in Greybull WY. This is always a treat when we get to go (usually we have to work). And we love it when Don's cousin Barry and his family are there. We buy fireworks in Cheyenne on the way up and shoot them off until the city's show comes on. These pics are all from the 4th of July. I'll have pics from the rest of the trip over the next few days

Also, to let everyone know, Jenelle had surgery in Indiana on July 7th and is doing well and improving daily. She hopes to be out of the hospital sometime early this week. I know she is thankful for all thoughts of her.

More to come tomorrow!

Wednesday

Sorry it's been forever since I've posted. Here's what my last week has consisted of: Go to work 7 pm, work for 12 hours, go home sleep for 5-6 hours, drag my butt out of bed at 5 pm (I like to get up at 4), rush to get ready and go back to work (which is where I am now). Tonight is day 6 of 7. I have only, one other time, worked 7 12 hour nights in a row. This week is kicking my butt. However, I have vacation coming up. We are leaving Friday morning after I get off work. Jeremy will pick me up from the hospital and off we go for two weeks of not worrying about anything and relaxing when I want to (which will be at least the first 2-3 days and scattered days in between, the rest of which we'll be hiking, kayaking, camping and who knows what else). It's getting to the point where I'm starting to act a little goofy and maybe snap a little easier. Jeremy said he would also be glad when my stretch is over ;) Tomorrow is going to be the most hectic day. I have to get a haircut. My hair is just crazy long in the back and looks a little silly (even though everyone has complimented me on my hair more this week than when I first got it cut). So that is scheduled for 4 pm. We also need to get groceries before we leave (snacks, magazines and non perishables that we'll use when we get there...oh yeah, and shampoo). I haven't packed either. So I will get home tomorrow about 8-8:30 am. Hopefully, (unlike the last 2 days) I will go right to sleep when I lay down so I will be somewhat rested when I get up around 2 pm. Tomorrow night will, of course, be the longest because I am so looking forward to not be coming back the next night, a luxury I haven't had I quite a few days! Plus I will get to sleep the whole drive if I want to, which is about 7-8 hours. I haven't had that much sleep in at least 7 days!! So, anyway, I do have a few more post ideas before we leave, hopefully I can get them up despite my busy schedule.

My lilac bush FINALLY bloomed!!!! I took pics today but was rushing out the door to get to work on time and couldn't post them. That will be for tomorrow. I also want you guys to see a picture of my month of July calender. You will laugh! I have so much planned. More to come tomorrow then I'm off the grid for two whole weeks...bliss!
