Monday

Hi to everyone that is keeping up with me! Today was pretty uneventful. I had an orientation at the hospital for the new hospice floor that's opening next week. I have more orientation tomorrow and Wednesday. The day's discussions and shared stories made me think of Grandma and Grandpa. They really are the reason I like working hospice. So today's post is in honor of them. I miss Grandma's homemade cookies, strawberry jam and pie. I miss Grandpa cheering on the kids at ball games, being more excited about opening presents on Christmas than the kids, and cussing. I miss celebrating every holiday and birthday and some random Sundays at their house and I really miss how they were always there. This is not a sad post. It is in celebration of their life and the lives they touched while they were here, including mine. I would not be the person I am today if it were not for their care, attention and pure, unconditional love for all of us.

Quiet angels sing your song
That helps my day to move along
Because of you I am here
And because of you I care

Joy thinking of you, happy in a better place
Though sad we had to part
I still move forward each day
Your song still in my heart
Sarah

I'm a little rusty with poetry. It's been a very long time since I've written anything. I hope no one cries when they think of Grandma and Grandpa because they would rather we smile and laugh. I miss you guys!!!!!!

  1. Agreed. Love the photos and while I love celebrations with our family the way we are growing, there is always a small part of me that misses their presence...Love you!
